LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2

Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2 is the sequel to the hit 2013 title Marvel Super Heroes.
And continues the story right after the events from the first game.
But don’t worry, even if you have not played the first title you can easily follow the story.

Here the main villain Kang the Conqueror is traveling through different timelines and realities,
conquering and kidnapping heroes and their cities to merge them into one place: Chronopolis.
Here the heroes must work together to prevent Kang the Conqueror’s threat,
who plans on taking over Chronopolis, and the universe ultimately.

The game itself features similar gameplay to its predecessors and other Lego video games,
alternating between various action-adventure sequences and puzzle-solving scenarios.

Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2 has a story mode that consists of 20 levels, 10 Gwenpool chambers and 10 Pink Bricks.
There is also plenty of locations (18) in game from New York to K’un-L’un.. to keep you busy with.
And Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2 is massive in sheer size of characters,
A total of 236 not counting DLC. So you are guaranteed to find
some of your favorite super heroes in here for sure. (sadly there are no x-men or fantastic four)
And to collect them all you will be spending some time on the game.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 also supports full 2-player local co-op throughout the entire campaign,
So you and your friend can conquer the game in vertical split screen.

After the first few intro missions, you are able to explore the open city of Chronopolis.
Chronopolis is the hub from where you progress to the next mission, and side quests.
As in LEGO games in general, there’s plenty to explore and things to discover in the open city.

And while doing missions and trying to collect everything, you could miss something along the way
Here is where; replaying missions comes in handy.

Replaying missions is as simple as going to the Avengers mansion and selecting Free Play,
which then allows any unlocked character to be selected to replay the mission.

One of the great things in Marvel Super Heroes 2 is the ability to create your very own
custom character, where you can change anything from appearance to abilities. This is though down to what you
have unlocked prior in terms of abilities. So you cannot create a super character right of the top.

And if that’s not enough, you can also recreate your favorite super hero and give them entirely new powers
to mix things up a notch. Think Starlord with Spidermans abilities or Captain America shooting webs.

The gameplay itself should be familiar if you have played any TT LEGO games prior, collecting lego studs, tons of fighting
and tons of puzzles to solve, in linear levels, smashing everything up and putting things back together to clear paths.
But there has also been some improvements on the gameplay mechanics here,
for instance clicking on the left stick will bring up a hint to make sure you are never stuck.
Which is a great feature to have if needed.

Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2 is also an good looking game, bright colorful graphics with awesome renderings of the heroes.
Not everything in game is though LEGO, as the backgrounds are more realistic to give the game a bit more depth.
And I feel that was the right choice here, as it looks good.
Control of the characters wheter you are walking, flying or swimming felt good and smooth. The camera angle sometimes
went a bit haywire, but nothing that occured too often or would be game breaking.

The voice acting in the game is great, and combined with some funny writing throughout the game.. you’ll laugh.
Same goes with the music choices in game, a good job done here as it is really enjoyable.
Some might notice that the voice actors aren’t the same as in the first title, but this is not a bad thing.
The cast do an awesome job on the voices.

With so many Super Heroes to collect, and a good story to play through. You are guaranteed to have alot of fun in Lego Marvel
Super Heroes 2. It is really a family friendly title that suits anyone from young to born early, and worth the asking price.

Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2 is out now on PC / PS4 and Xbox One (NS title to be released)
